Each of the winners received a Petties award trophy and a $500 donation to one of the 3,000+ shelters and rescues listed in DogTime's Save a Dog and Save a Cat applications on Facebook®.
"Congratulations to all the finalists and the winners. These bloggers put their heart and soul into their work and it shows," said Caroline Golon, co-founder of BlogPaws. "Everyone enjoyed the awards ceremony and we are already looking forward to next year's BlogPaws and the 2011 Pettie Awards!"
In addition, winners will be interviewed by DogTime's editor-in-chief Leslie Smith for an article that will appear on DogTime.com and across the DogTime Media Network.
"It was so heartwarming to see the tears of the winners' emotional acceptance speeches and their gracious acknowledgements of the other nominees," said DogTime Media CEO, Trevor Wright. "We are so proud to be a part of the pet blogger community and to be able to provide the tools and services that can help smaller bloggers grow into great bloggers, and great bloggers to become winners. Let's do this again!"
DogTime's Pet Blog Awards opened for nominations on July 13th and received over 900 submissions. The top four nominees were selected in four categories, and voting began August 3rd. Thousands of votes were tallied and the winners were announced at BlogPaws 2010 West in Denver Colorado at the Grand Hyatt Denver on Saturday, September 11th.
