I would really like to start classes soon to become an orthopedic surgeon,... it's been my life long dream! But I have a family and they need lots of planning for, so I really need to find out the requirements for this proffession and how long it could potentially take me. Please, those who know from experience help me out! How many years, what type of licenses and degrees, and what special training/experience would be crucial/beneficial?
First you will have to become a veterinarian which is about 4 years of school, then you will have to further your education and specialized training to become an orthopedic surgon. I would recommend you get in touch with the veterinary colleges for more details of costs, licenses, etc. :-)
