A Dog About Town

***UPDATE*** March 16, 2008
And we now have another VERY cool update from Randolph at A Dog About Town. He has a brand new CONTEST that we want to share with you all. You can win something humans seem to love a lot: Money! Just use this link for the straight poop on the contest:
A Dog About Town CONTEST

***UPDATE***
This book just won best Fiction 2007 from DWAA (Dog Writer’s Association of America) last night (02/10/08) at their annual awards gathering in New York!!!

Can you believe it??? A DOG wrote a book!!! Of course you believe it bepaws after all yours truly writes a blog, WOOF! I’m VERY impressed by Randolph the dog who wrote this book. I’m usually not very impressed by other male dogs but Randolph and I could be fast friends. He’s quite witty and the book is a reminder of all the good books from days of yore…yes I said yore. Even better news, J.F.Englert and Randolph will be joining us on one of our online radio shows, The Dog View, on February 7th, 2008 at 2:30 PM Eastern!

A Dog About Town
In A Dog About Town, Randolph is like any good dog and he doesn’t have to use bad words in his book to get his point across. You are in suspense throughout this whodunit but with a dog on the scent it’s no mystery that the mystery will indeed be solved…at least part of it hehe.

Mom said it reminded her of the Sherlock Holmes books she read growing up only better bepaws it’s written in first dog! We hated when it ended and we’re looking forward to the next BullMoose Dog Run Mystery! You’ll just have to pick up a copy of this book by J.F. Englert in any bookstore near you or on Amazon.com or other online bookstores…here’s the description:

Harry is a man still mourning the loss of his beloved girlfriend, Imogen, who left him suddenly without a word. He’s also the owner of a plump, poetry–loving Lab, Randolph. Like most Manhattan dogs, Randolph spends his days sifting through a world of scents, his owner’s neuroses, and an overcrowded doggy run at the American Museum of Natural History. But now a bereft Harry has drifted into a circle of would–be occultists. Which might not be so bad if one of them wasn’t also a murderer.

But which one? With 100,000 times the smelling power of a human being, Randolph can quickly detect the scents of guilt, anxiety, and avarice—and he has no lack of suspects, from a seductive con woman to an uncouth professor of the decorative arts. Now, to protect his hapless owner’s life, Randolph might have to do the unthinkable—and start training Harry to catch a killer…
