Tapeworm

Posted by zdog

Just found out yesterday my dog has tapeworm. Gave her the two "tape worm tabs" prescribed by vet and today her stomach looks bloated. What can this be? And when will I know the tape worm is all gone?

Normally that bloated appearance is caused by gas. It could be related to the medication, something she ate, or a combination of both. The worming medications for tapeworms are very effective, providing they are combined with good flea control on the dog and in the home. This is necessary because fleas are the source of the tapeworms. If the fleas aren't controlled, then your dog could get tapeworms again.
