Hello, my 10.5 year old boxer has been reacently diagnosed with heart failure. She is on lasix to help with fluid. Tonight one of her eyes has started to swell. The tissue around the eyeball. It is almost swollen shut. Does this need immediate attention? Should I be worried????
Unfortunately, there are many things that can cause an eye to swell from an allergic reaction to an infected tooth and everything between. Given her age and other problems, I'd recommend having her seen as soon as possible because even what may be a simple problem in an otherwise healthy animal may not be so simple in one with other problems.
