The pup-tastic grooming staff at  Rover Oaks Pet Resort  in Katy are helping animals from  Citizens for Animal Protection  (CAP) go from bow to wow by providing weekly doggie makeovers for lucky  CAP  dogs each Wednesday. The pups also receive a free grooming certificate from  Rover Oaks Katy  so their new adoptive parents can continue to keep them looking their best!

This week's makeovers feature Sombra, a six year old schnauzer, and Mochiko, a one year old pekingese/chihuahua/pom mix.

Meet Sombra BEFORE Her Rover's Makeover!

Sombra before

Sombra was found abandoned at CAP shelter, a sad, filthy and matted mess. She was most likely used as someone's backyard breeder dog; she has obviously had many litters. In spite of that, the poor girl seems sweet and quiet and very appreciative of people trying to help her. She was an angel for the grooming staff. Please help this little girl find a forever home where she will be treated with love, respect and kindness...she very much deserves it!

Meet Mochiko BEFORE His Rover's Makeover!
  Mochiko before

Mochiko was an owner surrender, turned over to CAP because he was a "gift" to owners who didn't take the time to get to know and understand him. He can be a little grumpy, but responds well to treats, patience and a soft voice. He told the grooming staff that he would be happier with just a bath and brushing rather than a full groom, so that's what he had.

Sombra, Mochiko and many other wonderful dogs, cats and small animals are waiting patiently for loving homes at Citizens for Animal Protection, 17555 Katy Freeway (I-10 at Barker-Clodine). You can also visit them on the web at www.cap4pets.org , but as there are many more animals at the shelter than are listed on the site, it is definitely worth a visit. And this weekend, June 1 - 3,  thanks to a grant from the ASPCA, CAP is hosting Adoptapalooza 2012 ...featuring a kissing booth (with the ever-adorable CAP Humane Ambassador Annie), sidewalk sale...a nd the first 125 adoptions will be fee-waived. Hurry over to CAP...your new best friend is waiting to meet you!
