He is shaking, seems to be in pain. Is having trouble breathing, sounds bubbly/disrupted and struggles to start breathing consistently when he is moved. He is an older dog. About 10 years old.

What you are describing could be caused by several conditions.  The 2 really important points you mentioned are the "struggling to breathe consistently" and that your dog is 10 years old.

With that recipe, you really should have him examined by your veterinarian as soon as possible.  Respiratory distress can go downhill in a hurry and result in even worse consequences.
