Since you didn't finish your description of your dog's problem, I can only guess as to what you were leading to.  Were you trying to describe something like a "Pemphigus" disorder?  Send a little more information and I'll try to give you an answer.

Sorry, didn't realize the entire question would not be posted. She has numerous sores on the upper legs & paw areas. They have given her steriods now which increases appettite a problem with Beagles. The leasions also have blood & liquid & they have done a biopsy hence the treatment, however no real diagnose as to what causes this or how it was contracted.

Jessica,

Did your veterinarian tell you the result of the biopsy?  If so, what was it?  If steroids were indicated for treatment as a result of the biopsy, then you'll just have to deal with the side effects (increased appetite, increased thirst, and increased urination) as best you can.

If this truly is an auto-immune disorder, as you originally said, it most likely was NOT contracted from another animal.
