After the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) found salmonella in samples of the SPECIAL KITTY Gourmet Blend cat food, Mars extended a dry food recall originally issued on October 27.
The recall now covers all dry pet food produced at Mars' Allentown, PA plant with a "best by" date between August 11, 2009 - October 3, 2009.
