I agree with Dr Jeannie. Scratches from teeth would be a problem, though. And if a person had scratches on other wounds and then interacted with a dog in such a way that the dog's saliva came in contact with those wounds, that could also be a problem. If thise cases, if the dog was later found to be rabid, you should immediately seek medical attention.
