Your cat only has one stomach, as do ALL carnivores. Only ruminants (cows, sheep, goats, etc.) have multiple parts to their stomach.
Why would you want to starve your male cat once a week? Do you think he is overweight? Has he been eating what you consider to be more than normal? If so, these situations can sometimes be related to a medical condition. For that reason, you should discuss your concerns with your veterinarian and have a complete physical exam of your cat.
