Isabella and I recently went to tour PetSmart's PetsHotel and thought we'd share our experience. The facility is a great place for pets while parents are away. They have many different options for your pup or kitten, all at a price that won't break the bank. What I noticed most was how nice and attentive the staff were. Led by an awesome manager, Jackie Guevara, the entire staff seemed excited to be working there. They all really do love animals and love to give visiting furry friends the love and attention they need when we are away. I was especially impressed to learn that you can call anytime during lobby hours and actually talk to your dog! They will put them on the phone with you in the Bone Booth! I was equally impressed with the Doggie Day Camp and play area. All the dogs were having a blast, all under the careful supervision of a happy staffer. If you are one of our feline favoring friends, you will love the Kitty Cottages. Perfect for a persnickety pussycat.
If you are looking for a great place for your four-legged friend to stay while you travel, I highly recommend PetSmart's PetsHotel! Check it out for yourself by clicking here! Continue to the next page to view our video of the tour and learn more about the company. There are links to great video tours included. Mine is nothing in comparison, but it's a dog's eye view!
PHOENIX, AZ - More than half of all pets are left behind when their families travel. PetSmart® (NASDAQ: PETM ) knows pet parents want only the best care possible for their loved ones while away, so PetSmart PetsHotel ® associates go to great lengths to give pet guests the personal TLC to make them feel right at home.
No Request too Great
Take Coco Lamb, a 140-lb. Irish Wolfhound in Joliet, Ill., who only eats his dinner from a spoon. Coco's family drives more than 30 miles to their nearest PetsHotel in for this VIP treatment.
Rising to these unique requests is just part of what makes a pet's stay at the PetSmart PetsHotel so special. Whether it's the spoon-fed care of an affectionate associate or an associate rocking a dog named Mitzi to sleep to her parent's lullaby over the Bone Booth™ telephone, these are just a few examples of care provided at the PetsHotel. More unique requests fulfilled include:
Willow Grove, Pa. PetsHotel associates welcoming a shepherd mix who was rescued from a shelter in Israel. This pet guest only understands Hebrew, so his pet parents provided a list of commands in the dog's native language. The PetsHotel was happy to quickly learn the Hebrew commands, making the guest feel right at home.
Spending extra time with Georgia, a Hurricane Katrina survivor and very timid, anxious Bloodhound mix. She wasn't very good at making friends or being away from home, so during her first overnight stay at the PetsHotel in Springfield, Mo., Georgia was scared of her new surroundings and hesitant to eat. Throughout her stay at the PetsHotel, the resident pet trainer worked with Georgia to help her make new friends, learn to enjoy group play and happily eat dinner out of the palm of associates' hands.
Reading articles from the day's newspaper to a kitty guest at bedtime. This kitty's pet parents make it a nightly ritual, and the associates at the Overland Park, Kan. PetsHotel happily continue the tradition to help make their guest feel at home.
Fun for Everyone
While their families travel, dogs staying at the PetsHotel can participate in action-packed activities like Doggie Day Camp (SM), Treat Time and Bizzy Bundle™ packages. The PetsHotel offers a variety of rooms to best accommodate a pet's size, number of pets in the family (if multiple pet family members want to share a room) and the amount of pampering preferred. Dogs can relax in atrium dog rooms or pet parents can upgrade to suites and luxury packages with extra amenities. Feline guests can relax in private Kitty Cottages with comforts from home and play with trained pet care specialists for exclusive "TLC time." During a pet's stay, pets can take calls from their parents on the Bone Booth to check in or just say "woof!"
Just like pet parents, PetSmart's number one priority is the safety, happiness and well-being of pets -- that's why security and safety are cornerstones of the PetsHotel. Upon check-in, pet guests receive personalized I.D. collars. Throughout their stay, guests are supervised 24-hours a day by the watchful eyes of trained caregivers. For extra protection, the PetsHotel has closed-circuit video cameras throughout the hotel in addition to keypad-secured double doorways to the interior. And, with a veterinarian always on call and Banfield® veterinary hospital inside PetSmart, medical help is never far if needed.
All dogs and cats are welcome at the PetsHotel, provided they have necessary vaccinations, including rabies and bordetella every six months.
