Posted Jun 02 2010 12:34pm
Discovery Green is the place to be with family and friends during the month of July. Open 6:00 am to 11:00 pm, the beautiful downtown Houston green space provides Houstonians with movie nights, fitness classes, the wide open Jones Lawn for fun family games, dog runs and a children’s playground. When the Houston heat seems unbearable, visitors can enjoy interactive water features throughout the park and ice cold drinks at the LakeHouse.
A complete list of all the programs and special events can be found on the Discovery Green website, www.discoverygreen.com. Get weekly programming updates by signing up for Discovery Green’s e-newsletter.
All events are free and open to the public unless noted.

Discovery Green is a 12-acre park created by a public-private partnership between the City of Houston and the non-profit Discovery Green Conservancy. Since the park opened in April 2008, it has welcomed more than 1 million visitors and hosted more than 800 public and private events. The Discovery Green Conservancy works with hundreds of programming partners to present three dynamic programming seasons each year most of which are FREE and open to the public. The Conservancy raises all the funds needed for the programming that Houstonians enjoy—and to ensure our park remains an accessible and incomparable public gathering space.
