Today I have another new friend, Baylor the Australian Shepherd! He’s an only dog like myself, but that just means we don’t have to share the love of our humans, WOOF! It would be nice to snuggle up on my new dog couch with a girl dog though hehe. Oh but I digress. Baylor’s human is studying to be a veterinary naturopath just like my human. He’s pretty doggone glad his human understands the whole point behind natural rearing and has gotten him on the right path to whole health, WOOF! I LOVE sharing with you the beauty of naturally reared dogs! Baylor is quite the opposite from me when it comes to loving the Young Living Essential Oils (hehe) too but that’s okay, we are all unique individuals just like you are humans. Here’s Baylor to share his story with you…
Hi Shad the Man, Baylor here. My mom tells me you have invited us to write a little about myself and that is really cool. I am a six year old blue merle Australian shepherd who loves life. My mom is learning all she can about raising me as naturally as possible. Our home and yard is chemical free ; I do not get vaccines , I have acupuncture and chiropractic adjustments routinely, no chemicals on my skin or in my body from pills . Finally she was able to get over her fears and I am now a raw fed boy. At first I did not like eating raw meat and bones but after a consultation with your mom, Dr. Kim , I eat up everything put in front of me. She even helped when I went through a nasty healing crisis . Now this is a little embarrassing but I love my raw diet so much that drool hangs from the sides of my mouth while my mom is getting my meals ready and the drool gets all over the floor. I think I learned this from my bulldog friends.
Two of my most favorite things in the world to do are hiking and swimming. Just last week my mom and I hiked for 4.5 miles through a beautiful wooded trail. Of course I took a break to swim and do some dock jumping. A lady who was watching me play in the lake commented to my mom “Your puppy is so full of life” and my mom said he will be 7 years old in November. I go to school twice a week where I play in agility, learn tricks, and enjoy a game called obedience. I also am more than happy to sit with my mom as she reads or go on a car ride.
My mom is working towards her Doctorate in Veterinary Naturopathy which means I get to experience even more exciting modalities of healing. I am okay with flower essences but those Young Living essential oils make me hide my head. They may be good for you but I prefer smelling like lake water and dirt. When others ask my mom what she gives me because I have turned into a calm, focused, beautiful boy she is able to tell them it is because I am naturally raised. I am slim, muscular, happy, and balanced. She says I am a perfect example of how a raw diet can make a total change in a dog’s life, even at 6 years old.
Thank you for being with me and sharing your story with us Baylor! Mom says she’s excited that she and your mom are going to be colleagues, WOOF!
Have a pawsitively tail waggin’, NATURALLY healthy day, WOOF!
