It is clear, informative, scientific...open discussions.
I read it in Portugal
Carrie writes the truth about living with an eating disorder, and about what life looks like in recovery--without the easy, bandaid solutions. She presents an extremely informed, honest, articulate, and compassionate view of these diseases and their relationship to mental illnesses like depression, OCD, and anxiety. Her critical responses to cutting-edge studies about eating disorders help to puncture the myths that surround them; above all, her focus on eating disorders as biological, physiological conditions negate pop-culture beliefs that eating disorders stem from vanity or bad parenting. I can say quite truthfully that some days her courage and determination keep me going. She is a beautiful, beautiful person--and I have never met her in my life.
