Hi Sarah,

I sent a reply post twice to your question regarding veggie snacks for work.  I dont think it went through since wellsphere may still be revamping their site, etc.  Anyhow, here is my original post.

P.S Congrats on the 12 lbs lost!  Keep up the good work! =)

Hi Sarah,

Here are some suggstions that may peak your interest!  Well, let me add some other food items besides only veggies that may get you and your whole family excited with the healthy foods I am mentioning....besides you snacking at work with the veggies.

I am going to mention the word antioxidants which mostly come from fruits and veggies, besides it commonly found in tea and cocoa.  They are chemicals that can help prevent cancer, heart disease, beneficial effects on human health, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, etc.  Alright, enough of me rambling on!

Vitamin C

-citrus fruits, green peppers, brocolli, green leafy veggies, strawberries, raw cabbage, and potatoes

Vitamin E

-green leafy veggies, vegetable oils, whole grain, nuts, seeds

Beta-Carotene

-carrots, squash, broccoli, sweet potatoes, kale, apricots, peaches, cantaloupe, tomatoes, collards

Selenium

-veggies (if grown in selenium rich soils)

So, you have the above benefits of foods for each category I mentioned.  Now, let me suggest a few good meal or snack choices that you may enjoy at work.

-carrots, mushrooms, cabbage, bean sprouts, bok choy (chinese vegetable), pepper, celery, onions, cucumbers, broccoli, cauliflower

I hope this may give you some other ideas that I've missed out!  Enjoy and happy eating!

In Health,

Richard
