yes, taking a walk, dancing a jig, just about anything that gets your blood flowing and the more the better.  The problem is that when you are depressed you can't get yourself to do it -- so friends (as I have asked everyone my whole life) lets go play frisbee or go do something - even 15 minutes can make all the difference.  When my daughter was little I could drag her with me, knowing it was good for both of us.  Now that she has grown, there is no one in my immediate family or friends who enjoys being/doing physical things. (All of them need it but ...) I have tried to hint about how important it is for my well being but I don't think they get it - "What's the matter with you?"  I NEED SOMEONE TO PLAY WITH/or why doesn't mom make us go outside and play?
