On February 8, 2009 Joey, our bundle of joy arrived five weeks early! A few days later we learned that he had Down syndrome. We had no idea throughout the pregnancy that our baby was going to have Down syndrome. But we had refused most of the prenatal testing because when I saw Joey's heart beating on an ultrasound at 9 weeks gestation I knew that was a baby, our baby, and it did not matter...

For ten years we were a family of two. Three if you count our dog. We had a dream. Marriage and children and the whole happy ending. In 2003 we found out that our dream may not come true. First clomid three times. Five IUIs. Four IVFs. Thousands of dollars and many years. And still a family of two. Three if you counted the dog. It was during that emotional roller coaster that I started this...

I love spending time with my family, but never seem to find enough time in a day to get everything done! Lots more time on my hands as I have been on bedrest with my pregnancy for the last twelve weeks, but afraid that will end soon as little guys should be coming in next several weeks!

I am a wife, mother and labor & delivery nurse.  Life is pretty busy and trying to find a balance between all of these is the joy of my life.  This past summer, I reached a goal of mine by running 5K races.  I found myself unexpectedly pregnant this summer. Unfortunately, that pregnancy ended in my first miscarriage at 11 weeks. I had a D&C August 27, 2009. My blog...

I am 40, and will turn 41 in February. My husband and I met later in life and very much want to have a child or children of our own. I have delivered two babies with different trisomies who both passed away in the last two years. Our first baby was born in April of 2008, at 25 weeks 5 days gestation, premature, and lived only two hours. She was diagnosed by Amnio with Downs Syndrome (trisomy 21)...

I lost a kidney and have just recently found a path to take because a Doctor took the time to listen and realized I was not a hypochondriac or a big overly sensitive, stressed, depressed woman. (yes, lots of justified sarcasm). I was athletic, very lean and continued to stay fit by enjoying bike rides and playing recreational co-ed softball. However, when I started a family at 25, I had...

Dr. Sudarsan Ghosh Dastidar played a pioneer role in the development of IVF technology in India. He was inspired to work in the field of infertility medicine by Dr. Subhas Mukherjee - India’s pioneer IVF scientist- who had started an IVF program in Kolkata which led to the birth of a baby - “Durga” in 1978. However there was a lot of controversy since the program was not...

I have struggled with infertility for almost 5 years. I have been through one fresh IVF cycle which resulted in pregnancy and two Frozen Embryo Transfers that both resulted in miscarriage. My first pregnancy ended at 32 weeks when my daughter was born stillborn. We are working on doing another fresh IVF cycle and hope that someday we will have a child of our own to take home!
