I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in early 2001. Since then, I have been able to achieve and maintain normal blood sugar through weight loss and frequent exercise. I have never taken any diabetes medication, and I was able to stop taking the blood pressure medication I had been on when I was diagnosed as diabetic.
