Recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer and off work while I go through treatment (surgery, chemo, radiation). I am 43, married for 17 years to Brad, and we have 2 boys - Zach is 14 and Carter is 11. I run outdoors year round and have done 3 half marathons (one in the snow). I want to do a full marathon at least once. I plan to spend time outdoors walking or running as I go through my treatments.

My cancer journey started at the age of 39 when I was first diagnosed with breast cancer. Treatment included radiation and chemotherapy as well as hormone therapy. In 2004, I had a recurrence in my chest area. The hormone therapy was changed with no other cancer to be found. Fast forward to 2008, an annual mammogram showed a lump in my left breast. After numerous scans and tests, the news was...

My name is Ron Sparks and I have cancer. Sounds like a 12-step program, huh? Being diagnosed with cancer has changed my life. It's been an incredible journey and it's not nearly over yet. Not even close. As a writer, I have a cathartic need to express myself when I am in trouble - so it's no surprise that I blog profusely about my cancer and my recovery. I was diagnosed with squamous...

I'm a healthy, vibrant and joyful person who owns a Pilates & Gyrotonic studio near the beach in Santa Cruz CA. Never having been sick in my life, I was shocked to find a lump in my right breast in June 2008 and was diagnosed with Stage 1 Grade 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer. I had a lumpectomy in June 2008 and the aggressive cancer spread to lymph nodes requiring a second surgery in...

ALERTplease visit my blog for current entries. For some reason my Wellsphere is failing to pick up my current entries.   After my original diagnosis in 2004 of breast cancer in the left breast, in January 2009 my doctors found my breast cancer had metastasized to my bone, specifically, to my spine. Next came major back surgery, leaving me in a TLSO brace and using a walker,...

Jan Hasak's inspirational blog "Mourning Has Broken" presents reflections and philosophies on what living with breast cancer means to a long-term survivor. Included in many of her posts are allusions to how she copes with lymphedema, an arm swelling she developed from cancer surgery and radiation. Her posts are often laced with tips on what conversations help or don't help a breast...

I was diagnosed with  stage IIIb triple negative breast cancer in Jan. 2009. Had chemo and radiation. I felt led by God to start a blog to encourage any who are going through a hard journey. I have also been encouraged and blessed by the comments people write in my blog and for the many new friends I have made!
