Speak Consciously

Posted Oct 22 2008 6:28am

I'm taking a week long workshop and we had to get in pairs and share stories.  I told the story about a difficult time in my life when I had a huge revelation.  The interesting thing is that I've told the story about thirty times before and never had the emotional response I had yesterday.  I tried to think about what made this time different and then the light bulb appeared over my head.  The people hearing my story were conscious.

It's important when facing a health challenge to be conscious of our bodies.  We need to know what our limits are so we don't further injure ourselves.  It's also important that we are conscious emotionally.  Since there is a mind-body-spirit connection, not being conscious can have serious implications.

When I told my story yesterday I was conscious.  I felt every feeling associated with the story.  I felt the angst of the circumstance but kept revealing myself first to my partner and then the entire group.  I was telling the story to people whose consciousness connected with me in such a deep way that it released me from the constraints I created for myself providing me with a new sense of freedom.

I hope you'll find ways to speak your truth in a conscious manner so you too can find peace in your day.  It does a body good!
