I took Flomax to increase the possibility of passing a kidney stone. It was prescribed by a doctor in the Center for Kidney Stone Disease at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore. (Johns Hopkins generally ranks as the #1 hospital in the country.) He said that they had discovered that men who were taking it for prostate problems were about 30% more likely to pass a kidney stone naturally, and that he now prescribes it for women as well. I took it for two months with no noticeable side effects - except that my feet felt "thick" in the morning though they did not look swollen. I ended up having laser lithotripsy to break up the stone, but I thought Flomax was worth a try. Hope it works for you! Mary
