Hi Patricia - in response to your question, I would say that absolutely, repetitive actions and stress can cause tension in your neck and back muscles, all the way to the base of your skull, causing headaches. I'm not an expert in tinnitus, so I don't know if this would be related. I'm giving this information in a very general fashion, not as your doctor, so I would recommend that you see a doctor, or get a second opinion, on this. Xanax can relax muscles, but is a potentially addictive medication with side effects, I'm not a big fan of it and generally don't prescribe it. That said, if the person who is recommending it to you is an expert in the field of chronic pain and it's considered by them to be up-to-date treatment, they may have a good reason to prescribe it to you.
