I am 37 and was diagnosed with Lyme Disease in October 2009. As a result of having Lyme, I developed autoimmune diseases such as endometriosis in 2003, and then in 2006-08, I developed chronic digestive issues and interstitial cystitis. I am thankful that I found a doctor that suspected Lyme, otherwise I would still be in rotation with gastroenterologist and urologist who refused to believe my conditions were somehow related.
