Random Bear Fan, Still In Pain, Asks Stupid Question

Some random Chicago Bears fan, someone I’ve never heard of, just sent me an odd question on Facebook.  Via “private message,” yet.

“Do you still feel the same about Jay Cutler ? I want to know. Because I found your post about him to be ridiculous, misinformed, and stupid.”

Now, I’m the kind of person who, out of sheer kindness, will try to educate the ignorant — even those I do not know. So I answered him.

What an odd question. Of course I feel the same. Even if his knee was legitimately hurt, it was the NFC title game and he should have given his last measure. Did Brett Favre ever quit on any of the teams he played with because of an owie? No. Champs play hurt. And even if he couldn’t play, he could have put on a headset, held a clipboard, do something to cheer on his teammates instead of standing there looking like a scolded puppy. So, yes. I feel the same. And I find my opinion to be well-founded, well-informed and quite intelligently stated.

Now a question for you?

I tried to look at his profile, but it is blocked to “friends only”.  But he does have pictures you can look at.  Here’s one of them.

And that’s NICE.  It’s quite an achievement to hang your hat on, being NFC North Champion.  I understand, because since the NFC went to four divisions, the Packers have been NFC North Champions four times.  The Bears?  Three times.  The Vikings?  Twice.

But you know what’s an even BIGGER achievement?

I hope you purchased your NFC North Division Title hat!

Know what’s an even NICER hat?

I got ‘em both.

If the Bears win the next Super Bowl , and the one after that, and the one after that, then they will have as many Super Bowl Rings as the Packers do.  If they win FOUR more NFL Championships , they will have as many as we do.
