I thought my life was complete. I had seen the World's Largest Fire Hydrant. And whenever someone came to visit us, we proudly drove them a few miles to Beaumont to see the 24 foot tall fire hydrant for themselves. Like we had something to prove. Like we had to show them evidence of Everything is bigger in Texas.
My bubble has been burst. I was disappointed to discover that I had been misled. And that I had misled others. It seems that Beaumont was the Home to the World's Largest Fire Hydrant.
I suppose records are made to be broken. And that's exactly what happened. The Dalmation spotted monolith in front of the Fire Museum of Texas was the World's Largest Fire Hydrant for two years, from 1999 to 2001. It fell to 2nd place when a 29 1/2 foot tall fire hydrant was completed in Manitoba in 2001. And it plummeted to 3rd place later in 2001 when a 39 foot tall fire hydrant was erected in South Carolina.
So, this is the disappointing news I discovered as I Googled the question, How tall is the world's largest fire hydrant in Beamont, Texas?
I only have one more question, Just how tall is the dog that the world's largest fire hydrant was built for?
