Why isn’t there white nail polish?

Posted Mar 31 2009 11:19pm

There are some important questions in life…  and this, I find, is one of them.   Why isn’t there opaque white nail polish?  I have finally (for the second time in my adult life) grown my nails long - my own nails - not the kind that you buy on a shelf - and I WANT a french manicure.  I just do.  Because I’m dainty like that.  Hmph.  Now, follow me here.

The kids are in bed.

I have 1.5 hours before my bedtime, and of that time, I have approx. 30 minutes of commercials.  That is only 30 minutes to paint the nails.

So the first coat of white goes on the tips.  It is translucent, at best.

Then the second coat.

Now I have the Rocky Mountain Ridge across the tip of every finger nail.  And I’m trying to eat popcorn with my knuckles.  And I only have a few more commercials left in which my brain power will be returned to me.

And so I give up on the white tips, and wish upon Jack Bauer that the top clear coat will cover up the above Rocky Mountains.

Now.  I ask you, wouldn’t it be soooo much easier if there was just a stupid solid white tip color?

I wonder if i could be on that inventor reality show…  I’m thinking I’m going to use white acrylic paint - from my craft dump room - and see if that works better.  I’ll keep you updated on these important developments.

There are a few other minor details in my life - Emma turned 5, I have 4 birthday presents to distribute buy this week, new budget goals, register for preschool, and a fun new journal that I’ve started.  But what really matters, is,

Why isn’t there white nail polish?  Huh?
