vaccinate?

Posted Oct 12 2009 10:00pm 1 Comment

I realize I may be opening a can of worms here, but I'd like a friendly discussion on this. The swine flu vaccine.. are you going to give it to your children? yourself? why or why not.

I've been reading a lot of literature and articles. I think we've survived our first (Lily) and now second (Ryan) case of the H1N1 virus. I'm still on the fence. There's pros and cons to both sides. So which will you choose, vaccinate or take your chances?

I think if you have a fairly healthy immune system that you will have a life long immunity should you come safely in contact with a virus. The vaccine sure does contain some scary stuff that you would avoid and not willingly inject the same amount into small bodies as you would a large man. As in Tetanus - if you're 40 pounds you get the same as a 280 pound adult. No sorry I can't give it to my kids. I can teach then to eat healthy and keep their hands clean and off their faces. Apparently salt water gargle and some mist or wetness up the nose (from salt water) can kill viruses. We'll do that daily - the spring at bedtime.
