Well after 3 sleepless nights of Violet being in pain with her foot and after using Panadol and Nurofen and then resorting to Morphine last night and it still not helping her pain, I took her in first thing this morning to the hospital.

CNC took a swab from the ulcer and decided to change her dressing to a silver impregnated foam dressing called Mepilex Ag .

Surgeon came in and has now decided after 4 months of not walking and not healing quickly enough that he will surgically close the ulcer and clean it thoroughly as he was thinking a few months ago. He said otherwise it would be several more months before it healed completely.

This is just way too long for any child to endure, let alone a child that is normally mobile.

Surgery should be in the next 2 weeks. We are awaiting a date from theatre.

After surgery, she will be on AB's again and incision should take 2 weeks to heal and then hopefully with everything crossed small amounts of weightbaring may just begin! Again not allowed to go straight into weightbaring constantly or walking straight away as her ulcer will be very soon to reappear if she does too much too soon.

Here is the latest photo of it.
