Oh-No has now made two successful visits to visit with nursing home residents. And let me tell you, they have had a fit over him! He has greeted each person happily and cuddled up on their chest as they've petted him to their heart's content. He has brought so many smiles already. The reactions of the people we visit never cease to amaze me.
Oh-No is not a very active pup.. nothing like what we are use to with Golden Retrievers. He prefers to spend his days napping in my lap rather than running amuck. He's very patient with our children who are convinced that he cannot walk on his own and try to assist him with every move he makes. The rest of the dogs have finally realized that Oh-No is not a threat to them. Serendipity (our resident diva cat) seems to still be trying to figure out exactly what he is, but she isn't bothered by him. (They are both actually laying in my lap as I type.)
Taking care of Oh-No has taken me back to the days when my children were babies. We are up through the night, worried if he's eating enough, cleaning up accidents, and wondering what each little grunt and groan signal.
It goes without saying that Oh-No is already spoiled rotten and has become somewhat of a local celebrity. He's been to our local pet boutique, Ooh La Poochez', twice now to get fancied up before his rounds at the nursing home. Also, on two separate occassions, Oh-No has been recognized from his Facebook pictures by people that we did not know! Each time he has been enthusiastically greeted and instantly become the center of attention.
But really... with a cute face like this, would you expect anything else?
