Thick brown mucus discarge normal????

Posted by raeray19

Hey I am 21 and I went to the planned parenthood the other day for a exam.  I was all ready for my exam when the nurse ased me to put my clothes back on because she needed to talk to me.  I did this and she came back in and said that she had done two pergnacy tests on me.   And they both came up with a very light second line.  She told me to come back in a week for another one.  I went home and took another test.  This one came out negitive.  So i figured either it was to late in the day or not far enough along to tell.  This week i have felt horible.  Today I had a very thick light brown discharge it was like stringy like I could hold it.  I even couldn't finish lunches for the kids at work.  Because I was feeling so bad I drank like 66 oz of water (which is alot for me) from 8-12 then i went in for another test and it was negative.  The doctor said it could be because i drank so much water befor i came in i could have diluted it so much.  Is this somthing some one else has gone through???

I have not been through your situation with negative and positive results of pregnancy tests.  However, I have been pregnant, and know that brown thick discharge is usual around the time that your period would have come.  Also, this discharge is normal for a day or two before your period and if stress or physical activity is pushing your period later than usual.  If you feel any other symptoms AT ALL - like vomiting or diarhea or headache - you should get tested again and/or see the doctor.  The discharge alone is not something to worry about.  Fever with discharge would be a go-to-the-doctor thing.  I hope by now  you have your answer about your pregnancy.  Waiting is the worst part!
