The Top 10 Worst Excuses Parents and Teens Make

Posted Jan 04 2010 10:10pm

Excuses, excuses…my parents (and I) had some doosies growing up. On this blog I talk a lot about the need to change.  Yet, even though people love the posts, here are the excuses I hear all the time when people do not want to make some positive, but sometimes difficult changes in their lives. Most of the time people are afraid to ask for help, and here is why…

Here are the excuses I hear all the time for people who need to ask for help to make a positive change, and then don’t:

1. “I’m too busy”

2. “It probably will be more difficulty than it is worth”

3. “I don’t want to be a burden”

4. “I should be able to figure this out myself”

5. “I can’t trust people with this”

6. “No one knows our situation”

7. “Where can I find real experts?”

8. “What I change into might be worse than where I started”

9. “It’s not that big of a deal”

10. “It would not make a difference anyway”

Is there an area of your life that you know you should change, but you need to ask for some help to fix it? If you have said any of these excuses, you need to realize that YOU are holding yourself back. It is the New Year, time to ask and you shall receive.
