The one where Angela Griffin sees the error of her ways …

Last week during a lapse in sensible thinking and a moment of boredom a celebrity came up in my ‘people I might know’ page on Facebook. I wrote this person, who we’ll call Barbara McTavish, a long email telling her that I knew two people she knew, that I blog and we have children of a similar age and then just finished and hit send. I immediately wished that a) Facebook didn’t exist and that b) I hadn’t hit send. Funnily enough I’m still waiting for a reply. If by any remote chance she’s reading this I wish to send my apologies and I will step away from the Facebook ‘people you might know however tenuous’ section in future.
Well, I’d thought nothing more about it, apart from the odd moment where I felt deep embarrassment … and the times that I daydreamed about Angela and I sitting down with a cup of tea to discuss our innermost thoughts. So imagine my surprise when I got a parcel from a PR company Angela herself (formerly known as Barbara McTavish)
It’s been three years, but Angela has finally seen the light. This week alone she has, personally, sent me a press release lovely letter (signed Angela x), a box of goodies including a signed bottle of Fairy liquid and a Christmas card.
Clearly it’s a sign that she wants to be friends. She’s obviously been wondering how to reply to my mortifying friendship request on Facebook and now, who knows … maybe she could come round and I can explain the extremely tenuous link that we have, using a family tree. Then we can discuss Christmas plans and maybe we’ll exchange gifts …
Delusional moi?
