The Magic of Disney (times 11!)

Posted Oct 28 2009 11:00pm

Our visit to Disneyland this month was one exciting adventure. We had the privilege of going with the Kuczykowski clan and, boy – did we have fun with our eleven kid entourage!

The park was just a bit more crowded than I remember it being this time of year, but we had a plan… The kids and I scoped out the rides that we just couldn’t miss, ahead of time, so Daddy knew exactly where to lead us.

We started out in Fantasyland, to ride the King Arthur’s Carousel, Peter Pan’s Flight, Dumbo, and Snow White’s Scary Adventure, but on our we grabbed some Fast Passes for a “big kid ride” – Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Those Fast Passes are the way to go – If you can time it right, you’ll be walking on to rides all day long!

After a quick lunch – one that we adults wished could have lasted longer – we were off again. Fast Passes to Indiana Jones were procured and then a fast and furious roller coaster ride with all the older kiddos… What fun!

Next up – a visit to Mickey Mouse’s house! Noah had been waiting for this moment for days and he was finally going to meet Mickey. At his house! So, off we went to see Mickey with the boys, while Tara and Luke took the girls to see the Fairies in Pixie Hollow. Noah was just a little intimidated by the real-life Mickey, but soon warmed up to him and wore a smile the rest of the day. The girls met up with us, grinning from ear to ear.

Goofy’s House was a nice reprieve, as we watched the kiddos play, climb, and run around in Goofy’s backyard. Then, we were off again… for more big kid rides!

Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, Adventureland, Downtown Disney, and more. Ray even took some of our older kids over to California Adventure, because they couldn’t stand to miss Soarin’ Over California and The Tower of Terror!

There were plenty of frustrating moments; plenty of times Tara, Luke, Ray and I looked and each other and thought, “ what were we thinking? ” (At least that’s what I was thinking!) I remember contemplating, before we even planned our trip, whether or not this was a good idea. I mean, would Noah remember this experience?. Would Ben or Noah (not to mention Daddy or I) even have a good time? I am so glad that we decided to brave it, even with so many little ones… This was a day that we and our children will most definitely remember. And, it was certainly one of many happy moments.

Now, I’m looking forward to returning, sans kids, next month. Yes, I said without the kids! {gasp}, I know! My sisters, Mom and I are planning a trip to SoCal and have decided that a visit to Disneyland – all decked out for the Holidays – just could not be missed… Sssshhhh, don’t tell my kids!

Ah, the magic of Disney!
.

Park hopper tickets for our entire family were provided, in full, by Disneyland.
Thanks a million, Disney, for this amazing family adventure!
