The latest

Well friends, it's the last day of June and it's 63 degrees here in Metrowest. SIXTY THREE DEGREES. No wonder my baby is sick. She's sporting a low-grade fever that very well might just be related to teething, but it's just so cold, damp and gross that I would be that germs are just festering.

Now there's an appetizing thought, yes?

Moving right along. I am still holding out hope that July, August and September will be our true summer. Not that I'm a big fan of heat and icky humidity, but for God sake, I'd just like to take my kids to the town pool. And the beach!

Besides complaining about the weather, we've been pretty busy. Weekends just seem to fly by way too fast when we have plans. Plans, on top of trying to fit in chores, errands, workouts and the occasional date night, and I could use about a week just to catch up on everything. As we speak, I have three good loads of laundry that need folding. Luckily Claire is napping and Charlotte is at "camp" - which is really just summer school so she continues to get her services year-round. Anyway, the bottom line is that life is great but hectic.

Let's see. What else. Did I mention that I've been working out? I've decided that a year after giving birth is long enough to sit around and I've committed to every day workouts. Well, 6 days a week. I firmly believe that a rest day is essential to give your body a break. I know I mentioned that my hip has been killing me, so I went and got a massage last night at Inman Oasis in Cambridge. OH MY GOD, I feel like a million bucks. Truly, it is miraculous how good I feel after a massage. I've decided to try to get one once a month to keep things copacetic. I am also trying - really trying - to fit in a yoga class once a week to keep my hip stretched out. Any other suggestions would be most certainly welcome.

Another thing we are trying to do around here is to get more sleep. Mr. P and I are notorious for staying up way too late, collapsing into bed at midnight and feeling SURPRISED in the morning when the girls get up at 6:30am that we don't feel refreshed and well-rested. So, we have vowed to try (again with the try!) to be IN BED at 10pm. We can read if we want, maybe watch the news - but we will be IN THE BED at 10pm and lights out at 10:30. I will definitely keep you posted on how that goes. When I actually DO that, I can get up at 6 before the girls, get showered and/or dressed, and feel more organized before the day begins. When I roll out of bed when they do, I usually feel like I'm trying to catch up all day long.

So, I'm going out this afternoon with the gals to buy Mr. P a bedside lamp to match mine and we'll see how it goes.

I think the last newsworthy fact is that I folded up the pack and play for what could conceivably be the last time ever and I felt...like I needed a hug.

That's it from here. What's new with you?
