(Pictures at the end…) So things I have learned from reading the amazing comments and e-mails I have received – really you guys are amazing:
(1) I am normal and perfectly ok (except maybe a bit of post adoption blues – I am working on that more on that later)
(2) Even though I don’t see them enough I have more friends than I realized who care about me and my well being!
(3) That I CAN change my attitude and I WILL change my attitude; and
(4) I have not been happy for a very long time — even before we brought the twins home for one reason or another and I am going to start making my own happiness
(5) I do NOT have to comment on EVERY post I read — so I am going to make everyone a deal:
- I will read ALL the posts and only comment on the ones that speak to me deep down and make me smile or where I feel a friend needs me BUT you all have to know that I am READING and that I may be a day or two (who am I kidding maybe a week or two late) with the commenting even on those posts. Part of this deal is so that I no longer feel any guilt over not commenting and only reading but also so that you feel no guilt over not commenting on me…it is OK to read and NOT comment on my blog at least! But if you want to comment GO FOR IT — I will not stop you! Also, if anyone has a problem with this then you don’t have to read my blog, you don’t have to tell me about and I am 100% ok with that! I will survive!
That said I am weeding down the posts that I will comment on now and I am pretty sure I will have a number that is much less than 100 – nothing like getting rid of over 200 blog posts! That and you all are not writing every day either (well at least 90% of you are not) and that helps me too!
SO I am going to do EXACTLY as Tracie said and for at least one month (I would love to say a year but who am I kidding I need month to month goals) I am going to post a picture I took that day and FIVE yep count them FIVE things I am grateful for that day — sort of a before I go to bed smile picture (meaning a picture that makes me smile not necessarily that the twins are smiling in it) and smile for my heart and go to bed and wake up the next day and start again. At the end of each month I will reassess and keep going if it is working! SO with no further ado – here is my smile picture(s) and my five things:
(1) That our diaper escape artist had only gone #1 in her diaper this morning when she removed her diaper without taking off a SINGLE piece of other clothing. We have no clue how she got the diaper off but we looked at each other and said thank God she didn’t go #2!!!
(2) That Little Man absolutely LOVES Itsy Bitsy Spider — as in knows the motions and tries to sing along and will let you know when he wants to sing the song which thankfully is not more than 3 or 4 times a day!
(3) That my local Mothers of Multiples group has everyone to a great local restaurant for a great steak with no kids and no husbands and they pick up the check to celebrate Mother’s Day and that night was tonight! MMMMMM steak……AND time away always helps me to remember what matters
(4) The feel of my son in my arms asleep — I told Aaron to let him stay up until I got home and he and his kitty his Aunt Caylin actually gave his sister but he has taken over because it looks like a tiger I think but I am not sure (he loves the tigers at the zoo) fell asleep in my arms when I got home….it was nice to not have to worry about his sister being jealous because he was getting my time! and
(5) The chatter and babble of my babies talking that twin talk (that some twin moms say does not exist) and the ensuing laughter — even if they are plotting against me in my mind! I love that even though they can fight over a toy within seconds they are happy and best friends again! I wish life was that easy and I love that it is for them…I hope it is always that easy for the two of them! I hope they always have each other!

I LOVE this picture because she looks like the little diva that she is!!! How cute is she

Check out the look here – how funny is he
The crooked hat, the sunglasses and the look
Oh my gosh — I love this little boy!!! (And I do not know how he got the scratch on his nose – he is a boy what can I say
)
