I learned of Steven Curtis Chapman while waiting for P3 to come home. He is a marvelous Christian singer with many CDs and many awards to his name. He had just His beautiful wife Mary Beth is the author of the delightful Shaoey and Dot books. But none of these things compare to the delight, joy and pride that this couple finds in their family. As the parents of 3 beautiful 'homegrown' children, their hearts were lead to China, where their 3 youngest daughters were born. In connection with their love for these sweet little girls and the joy they have brought to their lives, they created a wonderful organization to aid orphans around the world and other families in their quest to adopt called Shaoshannah's Hope. Steven has written music that touches an adoptive mama's heart like All I Really Want for Christmas did while we were waiting for P3 and he has traveled to China many times to do concerts, having just returned from a 4 concert tour where my friend Amanda from Starfish Foster Home got to even meet them.
Last night an excruciating loss occurred in their family. Little Maria, their youngest daughter, and one of their teenage sons were involved in an accident and Maria died. I cannot imagine the grief and pain they are now trying to cope with.
