Is it January 3rd already? Wow! The Holidays were coming, and coming and coming then ~~ whooosh ~~and they were gone! Now we are all looking forward to 2009 and trying to figure out how to live in the frugal new society fate has delivered us.
Thankfully, we have great stores like TJ MAXX and Marshalls to help us get the great items we want at the prices we need. I just love TJ MAXX’s new ad - Smart Shopping is the New Black. How true is that? How perfect for making great use of any money Santa left in your stocking! And now with all of their great buys for Spring, for our homes, and for items to help us keep our resolutions beyond January 6th, well, they honestly rock!
In case you have not ever been in one of their stores, they both specialize in quality brand-name items at discount discount prices for the entire family. Items for Men, Women and Children, Toys, Household items, Jewelry, and Accessories… they pretty much have it all and at great prices!
Believe it or not, I ran in both stores the day before Christmas. Seriously! I only had a little while but I had been given some money with directions from my hubby to use it only for myself. Heehee!! Does anyone besides me have trouble doing that - spending it only on themselves? Anyway, what fun I had! I decided I would see what great last-minute deals they were running and pick out a few things I had been meaning to buy.
When I was in Marshalls, I made a beeline for their Shoe MegaShop. (You may remember I told you about them here.) I needed some cute yet comfy walking shoes to wear to…what else? BlissDom’09 and BlogHer!! They had great brand ranging from Clarks to Betsey Johnson to Naturalizers and more! Alas, being short on time, I just could not decide on the right pair…there were that many to choose from. I could however, choose a gorgeous new wallet to replace the brokendown has-been in my purse. I skimmed the Christmas gifts and my weekness, the housewares and was amazed at the selection, even a couple of hours before they closed on Christmas Eve!
My visit to TJ MAXXwas similarly successful, with loads of selections available. Jewelry was a big draw for me as was the clothing department. In the end, a warm, soft nightie did the trick.
The staff in both stores, though understandably tired, were pleasant, my wait in line was short and the checkout process pain free. I even left both stores with money to spare! How is that for terrific?!!!
So when you are making your lists to include the shoes your child has again outgrown or the fluffy white towels you need to replace your threadbare ones, think ofTJ MAXXandMarshalls. After all, shopping smart IS the new black!
