Shi Shu review

Posted Apr 09 2009 7:15pm

Last week I got the BEST baby blanket in the world in the mail. Seriously. It is soft and pretty and gorgeous and has instantly become Olivia's favourite blankie!

Allow my to introduce you to Shi Shu Style. Their handwoven Baby Blankets are made from 60% cotton and 40% bamboo with 100% bamboo sateen trim.

I had never heard of a Bamboo blanket before and I was absolutely shocked at how soft it is! According to the Shi Shu website bamboo is a textile made from the pulp of bamboo grass which is light, strong, soft and smooth.
Bamboo is antibacterial, soft as silk, keeps you cool in the Summer, keeps you warm in the Winter and most importantly...BREATHES!

We've had dozens of baby blankets over the past 7 years and I really think this is the best one I've ever come across. I always loved the softness of the fleece-type blankets but they consistently gave my kids' rashes and kept the kids way too hot when they were wrapped up in them. Shi Shu blankets are just as soft and they don't cause rashes! Shi Shu blankets are completely free of unnatural and chemically treated fibers. Brilliant.

Shi Shu also makes Baby Snugglers which are smaller versions of the baby blankets. And once you feel one of these lovelies you will understand why they also make blankets for grown-ups! I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to be wrapped in a Shi Shu home throw.

If you are looking for a luxurious blanket that is sure to be gentle on the skin (and the environment) thenShi Shu Styleis the shop for you! These blankets would make an incredible gift... even if it is simply a gift for yourself :)
