The Mummified family and I recently had the opportunity to try out Mainland Cracker Cuts . I was excited to try these out on the family because it’s difficult to make sure the kids are getting their daily calcium intake.
The 2007 Australian National Children’s Nutrition and Physical Activity survey found that children and adolescents are falling short of the recommended calcium intake. Thirty percent of children and adolescents aged 2-18 years were consuming less than one serve of dairy
I would have shared a photo of the cheese that I received but it got delivered while I was at TAFE and the family decided they would do a taste test before I got home LOL But William and Giorgia were happy to keep “testing” and pose for me…
Mainland Cracker Cuts are natural pieces of cheese cut in perfect size to fit a cracker. Available in Extra Tasty, Tasty, Mild and Light, they’re a great lunchbox addition, after-school snack or if you’re just grabbing a quick bite on-the-go.
"When kids are at school it’s hard to monitor what they are eating so encourage them to pack their own lunch box with foods they like, which helps them actively learn about balanced eating. Have convenient foods on hand so they can choose a snack after school and also share some with friends" said Fonterra Nutritionist, Jacinta Orr.
The Mainland Cracker Cuts were a huge hit in this household. No need to slice up cheese to add to lunchboxes or when serving with crackers for a snack. And the teenagers have been grabbing a couple slices when they’re looking for something to snack on as they briefly breeze through the house LOL
My favourite is the Light variety. I can still enjoy cheese and crackers with a few less calories!
