I had a funny conversation with a guy from Minnesota today. I actually was returning a call and was told that the person I was trying to reach was not in. I proceeded to ask when she would be in so I could return the call and was told that she would not be in today "because we got 15" of snow"! He went on and on about what a hassle it was - I just laughed and said, "Well, we got 15" of pollen today!" Needless to say, he said "15" of what?". I laughed and told him "pollen - much worse than snow, that's for sure!" He asked me how that was possible - and I told him that at least you could ski on snow - and even more importantly, you did not have to take a ton of medication that makes you half crazed to walk out your front door. All you had to do to walk outside when it snowed was "bundle up" - not "drug up"! He laughed - but, I don't think he grasped the concept of just how bad allergy season can be here in Houston.
I think allergy season even affects traffic. I was thinking this morning that traffic seems to have gotten worse the past week or so - which seemed odd since it seems like everyone is home sick. Then it occurred to me - everyone is probably just driving slower because we are all loaded up on allergy medication and our reaction times are so much slower....anyone else suffering along with me?
