Paratrooper Man Takes Me Skydiving

Posted Oct 22 2008 4:26pm

I'm participating in Wordless Wednesdays at 5 Minutes for Mom.

I know that the idea is to be wordless, but a few words of introduction...

Day to day, I lead a fairly normal & a fairly boring life. However, every now & then, I get a bee in my bonnet. And it is usually a fairly large-sized bee. This bee causes me to do strange, impulsive & fun things. I just need some excitement. I'm not really an adrenaline junkie (I'm not. I'm not! I'm not!! ) because I only need this adrenaline fix a few times a year. Then, I've gotten my fix and I can go on back to my ordinary life... that is, until the bee strikes again!

Sometimes when I feel the bee start to buzz around again, I can settle it down by reminiscing about previous fun adventures & be content with that. The pesky bee has been buzzing lately, so let me see if I can get it to settle down!

Two years ago, I got a pretty big bee in my bonnet when I turned 35 years old. I was feeling old, bored & restless. A mid-life crisis of sorts.

My husband, Paratrooper Man, and our son, Young Sarge are paratroopers in the Army. I had enviously watched Paratrooper Man make military parachute jumps for years. Then, Young Sarge became a paratrooper too. And that... that was just too much for me. I was going to have to try this skydiving thing for myself. With the help of an expert tandem skydiver, of course.

OK, I'm ready to be wordless now...
