We got to enjoy open spaces and run wild.
Best of all, there was lots of food.
Then, they left and us girls enjoyed a relaxing night by the fire. I will let you know, we did not rough it. My neighbor owns a camper, so we had all of the comforts of home. That being said, we are not against tent camping, we did that last year, but when you can have the comfort of a camper, you don't turn that down.
We woke up the next day to a lovely forecast of 40% chance of rain.
Well, that gave us a 60% chance that it wouldn't, right? Nope, after a quick morning run, it started to rain at about 9:30...and it didn't stop until 5.
So, what do you do when it rains and you're camping with your girlfriends?
You drink a lot of wine...
...and you eat a lot of food.
Then, you take a nice mid-day nap.
When we woke up, we took a quick walk.
We cooked up an awesome dinner.
After dinner, we went for a longer walk around the lake. Of course, we needed the essentials on our walk.
We walked around the lake and enjoyed this beautiful sunset.
The rest of the night was spent by the fire drinking more wine and enjoying good conversation. Our camping neighbors even brought us fresh fish tacos that they caught about two hours earlier.
Now I'm back home refreshed but tired. It's always good to have good friends to enjoy a weekend with. If you haven't had a camping trip with your girlfriends, I highly highly suggest it. Just make sure you bring enough wine! We had about 10 bottles between the 4 of us.
