You’ve probably heard about the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA), but you may not have heard about their Club Tech program ! The Club Tech program helps prepare young people to become future journalists, graphic designers, engineers, photographers, and more through the power of technology. Nearly 1 million Boys & Girls Club members between the ages of 6 and 18 learn various skills in the Club Tech program, from word processing and presentations to music production and filmmaking.
Now, in partnership with Microsoft and Comcast, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America has launched the Faces of the Future campaign ( www.facesofthefuture.org ), which is designed to raise awareness about the importance of digital literacy. This campaign features youth from across America who have been positively impacted by the Club Tech program and shows how technology can transform lives. Throughout the campaign, the Faces of the Future Showcase will feature artwork, music and films created by youth using the Club Tech digital arts curriculum.
And here’s even more great news … you can help! For every 10 “likes” that the Boys & Girls Clubs of America receives on its Facebook page , a Club Tech member will receive Microsoft Office 2010. With your help, young people can accomplish great things through technology when given access to the right tools and opportunities. Please give them a click today!
