Nope I am not dead…I may ...

Nope I am not dead…I may feel like it but really I am doing ok. Sorry I have been MIA for the majority of the week. You may not care what happened but I am going to preserve it for posterity…

See Wednesday we had a not so good day - as in the twins REFUSED to stick to their schedule and well why we did make it to dinner with Aaron’s family and to visit Aaron’s grandma while she was in the hospital. When we returned home it took some work but we were finally able to get both children to sleep - Little Princess in her crib as always and Little Man with us. But in short order Little Princess was up and started all out SCREAMING and would not stop even with all of the usual tricks, once again it took awhile but we were finally able to get her back to sleep but her breathing was well a little different, there was no wheezing at this point but she was not herself. So this would go every few hours she would wake up and just scream and I could finally get her calmed down and back to sleep, by morning I was worried and even asked Aaron if we should take her to the ER - we agreed that we were just overreacting and I would call the doctor in the morning. So I called the doctor in the morning and he indicated that we should do exactly what we were doing and to call if it got worse. I then called and cancelled playgroup as I was not sure what the problem was and thought I should call and cancel the early childhood eval for the afternoon but then she started to get restless and I completely forgot to call and cancel. While Little Princess would not let me put her down at all on Thursday, Little Man played near by on the couch or in the pack and play. At the appointed hour the lady to start the early childhood eval appeared and I felt horrible as the house, me and the children looked well like I NEVER cared for us. The poor lady understood and she was great - fortunately this eval was just to have me answer some questions, though Little Man showed off every single one of his “tricks” and thoroughly charmed the lady! She said she would send out two evaluators - one to do a total overall eval and another to evaluate all of our eating issues (for another post). Can I just say that I LOVE the fact I am about to get some answers and possibly some help in the eating department and all for a small fee every month - I think that I am so excited. Anyway after she left I noticed that Little Princess’ breathing had got worse and made plans to take her to the doctor the next day REGARDLESS of the weather. When Aaron got home we talked more about her breathing and how she was totally clinging to me and didn’t even want to go to him. By 10:00 p.m. we decided that we should go the ER - have I mentioned that by 10 p.m. Thursday night we were experiencing a massive ice storm? So we bundled both children up and left for the ER, where I was not only immediately taken back but Little Princess was given every test under the sun and two breathing treatments in less than an hour - apparently she does not have RSV and had clear lungs - they could not tell us what caused her breathing problems but that she had them and until Monday when we saw our family doc she would have to have breathing treatments every 4 hours that she was awake…so we left with an Rx and a nebulizer. By the time we got home and managed to get everyone to sleep it was LATE and I had a real estate closing for a close family friend in the morning. So the next morning everything was running smoothly and I made it to the closing, picked up Little Princess’ Rx and made it home to feed the twins! I was impressed - until we feed them lunch. Little Princess ate almost NOTHING (showing she was NOT back to normal) and Little Man puked up everything he had ate period. So while the Little Princess continued to improve after some breathing treatments - Little Man puked five times, causing me to change his clothes three times, mine once and clean the couch NUMEROUS times. I called the doctor and was told give him a breathing treatment as well and no solids until he was not puking. Finally they were both playing and I was trying to get some more done and next thing I knew they pulled down the computer breaking beyond repair the power cord to the laptop and the wireless mouse. No more Christmas cards - or anything for that matter. I couldn’t take it anymore, I started crying as I was convinced that it could not get worse. Finally everyone went to sleep and no one slept well - but by the time we all woke up this morning we were seeing a new day. Little Man is STILL getting better (I knew he was still sick today when he put himself down for a morning nap he never takes…) and Little Princess is fine as long as she gets her breathing treatments, but can I say this is NOT the Christmas I had planned for this year at all.

I leave you with a picture of Little Princess getting a breathing treatment:
