I love discovering new things in our relatively new community (two years in December we moved to NC). Today we went to a park in Burlington that had the coolest of things. It’s all outdoor and tickets for the kiddy rides were only .75 each and the rides were longer than the typical three second deal you get at most places.
The carousel was awesome. My horse took off but other than that it was great.
What’s scary in this picture is the similarities. Just sayin’. Big beady eyes, large wide open mouth, long legs and a mane that’s growing out of control which can’t be seen in this picture. I’ve always wanted to look just like a polka dotted horse. ha! No really, this carousel has been there since 1930 and it’s one of eleven in the country. It was built in 1929 and supposedly purchased for $3,500.00 but insured for several million. It had an old timey organ playing music and it was the scene straight out of Mary Poppins. I just loved it.
The kids loved the rides and I loved all the retired people helping with the rides.
So thankful for good friends today and a great new discovery!
