my child cries a lot when goes out to someone else's place

I've a 6 months old daughter. This is weird that right from the begining, whenever we take her to any of our friend's place, she will start crying out loud. If the same friend comes to our place, she will be fine.
Me and my wife are not very social and with limited friends. We sometimes plan to go for get together, but my daughter gets too cranky and we have to leave the party everytime.
My daughter is not cranky at all when she is at home or if we her out to Mall or Park. She hardly cries while she is at home. I somehow need to understand this strange behavior of hers and need to know how to overcome this?
