Mr. P is holding Claire and Charlotte is fast asleep, so I have some time to sit down with my laptop and update properly. I would say that I should be doing some housework, but it's essentially done. How? I'll tell you how. My mom came to stay with me yesterday and today, and she's coming back again next week.
I cannot even express how much it has helped to have her around the past two days. I wouldn't even care if she just came over and sat her ass down on the couch. Her company has helped me tremendously.
My mood is much better, but still not great. I don't think it will be great until I get my health back (that sounds kind of dramatic, no?) but like I said, my mood has improved a lot.
Mr. P and I are alternating nights up with Claire. I need rest to get better and I feel pretty bad about him staying up on the nights when he has to go into the office the next day, but he's being a real trooper.
And Claire? She is fantastic. She's absolutely the polar opposite of her sister as a newborn. She's hungry all the time still - I cannot believe how much this baby wants to eat. She's super alert for longer stretches - calm and alert - and she likes to lay in her bassinet and look out the window. I basically like to hold her non-stop all day long but my mom has convinced me to put her down every once in a while.
And last night, she slept for a 4 hour stretch and then a 3 hour stretch so I slept pretty well - from midnight to 7:30am, only getting up once when she woke up at 4:00am to eat. I know not every night will be so easy, but last night was pretty sweet.
So, that's the latest from here. Things are still rough but they could be a lot worse. Yes, they could be a lot better but we are just taking it one day at a time.
And on Sunday I am getting my hair cut. So things? Are looking up.
