Looking for "Pink Products" for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Posted Sep 19 2009 10:05pm

For 25 years now, we’ve recognized October as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Wouldn’t it be great if we could halt this tradition because we were able to successfully cure every case of breast cancer or even prevent it altogether? What a dream come true that would be for the millions of people and their families who have been impacted by breast cancer.

The American Cancer Society (ACS) estimates that 192,370 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed among U.S. women this year. Approximately 40,170 women will die from this horrible disease in 2009. About 2.5 million breast cancer survivors are living in the United States today. I bet you know some of them, don’t you? I do! Breast cancer is so prevalent that it’s rare to find someone who isn’t acquainted with or related to a person who’s had breast cancer.

So, during the month of October, I’ll be encouraging you to purchase certain products that will directly benefit breast cancer research. Thankfully, many companies recognize the importance of funding research to help halt this disease that affects so many women (and men, too).

If you represent a company that is donating proceeds from the sale of one of your products to a breast cancer cause, or even if you’ve just heard of a great “pink product,” please email me at smhparent [at] hotmail [dot] com, and I may feature it on this blog during the month of October.
