Listerine and Reach Are on a Mission to Improve Children’s Dental Health

This Halloween, the makers of Listerine and Reach teamed up with the National Children’s Oral Health Foundation for America’s Toothfairy, a campaign designed to raise awareness of dental disease in children and help provide dental care to children whose families can’t afford it. As part of the campaign, some families made use of a special Trick or Treat Kit to collect donations on Halloween for this very worthy cause. But even though Halloween is over, the need for quality dental care for kids is still great. I encourage you to visit www.AmericasToothfairy.org to learn more about this very valuable program and even make a small donation. For a minimum $10 tax-deductible donation, America’s Toothfairy will send your child a personalized letter that emphasizes the importance of oral hygiene for healthy growth. What fun!
Also, in an effort to teach my own children the importance of good dental care, our family participated in the Listerine/Reach October Oral Care Challenge! Our goal was to brush, floss, and rinse with mouthwash twice a day for three weeks. I must say that it was a struggle to get my six-year-old boys to floss and rinse twice a day! They’ve always been good about brushing, but we’ve been real slackers when it comes to flossing and using mouthwash. But I’m really glad we participated in this challenge because it made my kids (and me!) more aware that we should be doing more to improve our dental health.
It’s a new month. Why don’t you get your family started on their own Oral Care Challenge? Try brushing, flossing and “swishing” twice a day every day for three weeks and see if you notice a difference in the way your mouth looks and feels! Now that your kids are chowing down on all that Halloween candy, it’s a great time to start a new dental regimen. And do please support the America’s Toothfairy campaign at www.AmericasToothfairy.org so other kids can benefit from good oral health care, too.
DISCLOSURE: I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Mom Central on behalf of LISTERINE and REACH and received products to take the Oral Care Challenge. I also received a Global Giving gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.
